Elderly man arrested again in connection with ongoing sexual abuse investigation

GONZALES, La. (BRPROUD) – 75-year-old John Mack is behind bars after a recent investigation by the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office.

According to the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office, “The arrest stems from information obtained by LPSO detectives.”

Detectives are looking into the alleged sexual abuse of someone under the age of 18.

Details are limited due to the nature of the alleged crime in this case.

The 75-year-old man is charged with First Degree Rape and Sexual Battery, according to the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Mack is currently in the Livingston Parish Detention Center.

This is the second time that Mack has been arrested in a month.

A recent investigation by the Louisiana State Police Special Victims Unit led to the apprehension of John Mack on September 23.

The LSP investigation also centered around allegations of sexual abuse of a juvenile victim.

Their investigation started a month prior to Mack’s arrest.

According to the Louisiana State Police, “Mack was arrested and booked into the Jefferson Parish Jail on one count of misdemeanor sexual battery.”

The investigation remains open.
