Emerge School for Autism to host open house for parents looking to enroll their children in kindergarten

The Emerge School for Autism will host an open house Monday, Dec. 16 at 6 p.m. for parents of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder looking to enroll their children in kindergarten for the 2020-2021 school year.

The open house will be at the Emerge Center, which is located at 7784 Innovation Park Drive in Baton Rouge, and will inform parents about how to apply for the kindergarten classes, according to the school’s communications and events manager, Brandi Monjure.

Applications for the school’s 2020-2021 kindergarten classes are open, and to qualify for admission, prospective students must live in the East Baton Rouge Parish school district, qualify for special education of autism, have a medical diagnosis of autism and be entering kindergarten.

The Emerge School for Autism is the first-tuition free school for children with autism in Louisiana, and the school’s mission is to educate its students using therapeutically focused, evidence-based strategies, according to its website.
