BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – Baton Rouge police are investigating a deadly early morning wreck not far from the Baton Rouge Metro Airport.

Emergency officials confirm at least one person was pronounced dead at the crash scene.

That person has been identified as 30-year-old Scott Leroy, of 10218 Dundee Dr.

BRPD says, a fatal crash “occurred around 6:30 a.m. in the 4800 block of Hooper Road.”

The accident happened as Leroy was driving a 2015 Chevrolet Traverse east on Hooper Rd.

An investigation determined that Leroy was likely unable to negotiate a curve.

According to the Baton Rouge Police Department, “the vehicle continued off the roadway and struck a pole.”
