NEW YORK, NY (NBC Local 33)(Fox 44) – New York City’s most iconic building is on standby to shine the school colors of whoever wins the College Football National Championship.

The top of the Empire State Building will be illuminated in either LSU’s purple and gold or Clemson’s purple and orange following the conclusion of the game. That’s according to the Empire State Building’s senior manager of media relations.

The building’s tower has often glowed the colors of different sports teams, holidays, and for other occasions in the past to honor an event.

Right now, the building’s tower is being illuminated in black and gold to signify the game in New Orleans.
