BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) is inviting the public to the state’s 40th anniversary of National Hunting and Fishing Day (NHFD).

Events will be held throughout Louisiana in honor of the annual celebration, which falls on the fourth Saturday of every September.

This year, the special day is September 24 and the event in Baton Rouge is all set to take place at the Waddill Wildlife Refuge (4142 North Flannery Road) from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The family-friendly event aims to introduce children and novice outdoor enthusiasts to a variety of outdoor activities that include fishing, canoeing, skeet-shooting, air-rifles, and archery in a safe and educational environment.

NHFD will also feature informative exhibits and demonstrations hosted by LDWF staff and other outdoor-related agencies.
