BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – There is some good news on a day when Tropical Storm Nicholas is rolling through Louisiana.

“After 15 days of restoration work, Entergy Louisiana has successfully restored power to more than 90% of all customers who lost electrical service following the devastation left behind by Hurricane Ida.”

Entergy estimates that between 84,000 and 90,000 customers still remain without power after Hurricane Ida.

“This progress is a testament to the dedication of our tens of thousands of workers and their willingness to do whatever it takes for our customers,” said John Hawkins, Entergy Louisiana vice president of distribution operations. “For those who are still without power, we want you to know that we won’t rest until every light is back on. However, restoring this many customers this quickly after a near category 5 hurricane is truly remarkable.”

Since Ida ripped through portions of the state, Entergy Louisiana has brought power back to around 815,000 customers.
