Entergy working on restoring power for over 5,000 in Ascension Parish

Ascension Parish, La. (BRProud) – A lot of people are without power in Ascension Parish on Monday afternoon.

As of 1:45 p.m., 5,065 customers are affected by power outages in Ascension Parish.

The power outages were caused by an accident that ended up breaking power lines.

The Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office says, “Highway 42 has reopened however approximately 5,000 customers are without power for an estimated three hour time frame. Entergy is on scene to fix the broken power lines.”

The outages were reported a little before 1 p.m. and Entergy estimates that power will be restored around 3 p.m. on Monday.

Entergy provided this message for those without power in Ascension Parish:

A serviceman is working to determine the cause of your outage. Power will be restored as soon as possible. We apologize for the inconvenience.
