BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) –This outstanding educator we “booked” is an East Baton Rouge parish librarian who works at Woodlawn Middle School, and the Extraordinary Educator award that we surprised her with was long “overdue.”
Inside the library at Woodlawn Middle School, you’ll find a book just about everywhere you look, with students in every corner, silently turning the pages. Among them is Mrs. Elizabeth, a librarian who just can’t help her “shelf,” or self, when it comes to reading.
“Books can take people to another place, transform them, take them to another world, and they can create comfort, ” she explained.
The beloved librarian has been in the business of books for several years. She helps her students get through each chapter, establishing a love for literacy at a young age.
“My goal is before they leave middle school that they discover a favorite author, a favorite series, a favorite genre, and that’s something they can keep always,” she said.
Mrs. Elizabeth is a passionate educator who loves her job everyday, which is why she deserves a story with a happy ending.
Congratulations to Mrs. Elizabeth for being our Extraordinary Educator!
