CENTRAL, La. (BRPROUD) – Multiple fire departments responded to a blaze on Sunday.

The fire took place at a residence on Daytona Dr.

According to the Central Fire Department, “Engine 323 arrived to heavy fire on Daytona Dr. and quickly protected the neighbors house” on Sunday afternoon.

Baton Rouge Fire Department investigators are working to determine what caused the blaze.

Investigators concluded that “the fire started in the carport area,” according to the Central Fire Department.

The East Side Fire Department and District Six Fire Department assisted the Central Fire Department at the scene.

A family was displaced because of this fire and the American Red Cross is providing assistance.
