BATON ROUGE, La (BRPROUD)- The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is hiring local Louisiana residents to help with disaster response and recovery efforts for Hurricane Ida.

Some job duties include; responding and recovering to a variety of emergency management functions which are not limited to disaster survivor assistance, conducting and verifying damage assessments, and providing administrative, financial, and logistical support, according to FEMA’s website.
Temporary local hires are also employed through a streamlined hiring process— with a term of employment of 120 days with the possibility of extension.
Prospective workers must meet the following conditions to qualify for the job;
- Must be a U.S. citizen to be considered for this position.
- You must successfully pass a background investigation.
- Selective Service registration is required for males born after Dec. 31, 1959.
