BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — Kick off the summer with some fresh produce from Fresh Fest.
The Red Stick Farmer’s Market is hosting the nine-week celebration for Louisiana’s agricultural season.
The annual festival showcases local products each week with cooking demonstrations, taste testing and children’s activities. Each market has its own theme.

- July 15: Everything Eggplant
- July 22: Positively Pepper

Along with the listed produce items, shoppers can also find mushrooms, pecans, honey, cut flowers, seafood, meat, eggs, bread and baked goods, jams, jellies, pickles and more.
The Red Stick Farmers Market happens every Thursday and Saturday year-round, plus every Tuesday and Wednesday seasonally. The Saturday market is from 8 a.m. to noon at the corner of 5th Street and Main Street. The Thursday market is from 8 a.m. to noon at the Pennington Biomedical Research Center which is located at 6400 Perkins Road.
The seasonal Tuesday market is from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Main Library at Goodwood, which is located at 7711 Goodwood Blvd. The Wednesday mobile market is from 9 a.m. to noon at the ExxonMobil YMCA, which is located at 7717 Howell Blvd.
