BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – The Baton Rouge Fire Department responded to a fire overnight on Woodhill Dr.

Upon arrival, firefighters found three residents outside of a home located at 908 Woodhill Dr.

Firefighters immediately went to work trying to put a car fire out.

BRFD says, “The fire was starting to spread to the home.”

Firefighters used seven total units, four pumpers and one ladder to extinguish the fire in 15 minutes.

“They were able to place the fire under control before it could cause major damage to the home,” according to the Baton Rouge Fire Department.

The home sustained $68,000 in damages.

Fire investigators found that the cause of the fire was arson.

BRPD, EMS, Entergy and the Red Cross assisted the Baton Rouge Fire Department at the scene.
