Five arrested in attempted ATM thefts while driving stolen vehicles

BRPP arrested five men suspected of attempting to rob ATM machines at two separate Chase Banks located at 3554 S. Sherwood Forest Blvd. and 7346 Highland Rd. early Monday morning.

According to authorities, the suspects were driving a stolen red Ford F-250 at the Chase Bank located on Sherwood Forest Blvd, and a stolen white Ford F-250 truck while committing the crime at the Chase Bank located on Highland Rd. When officers located the white F-250, the suspects fled on foot. With the help of the the K-9 unit, four suspects were found o Staring Ln. The fifth suspect was found while driving within the area looking to pick up the others.

Kobe Stephens, 21, of Houston, TX, Travonteay Stephens, 20, of Houston, TX, Dartamian Landry, 18, of Houston, TX, Davon Crumity, 20, of Houston, TX and Kylan McCoy, 18 of Pearland, TX were all booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish on attempted theft, theft of a motor vehicle and simple criminal damage of property charges.

The investigation is ongoing and authorities believe these suspects could be connected to similar incidents in neighboring parishes. Anyone with any information is urged to contact the Burglary Division at (225)-389-3824 or Crime Stoppers at (225)-344-7867.
