BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — Academy Sports and Outdoors will host its second-annual celebrity fishing tournament Wednesday, and one of the participants will be former LSU Football player Marcus Spears.

Spears, a Baton Rouge native who received several honors while playing for the Tigers from 2001-2004, is among a group of professional athletes and entertainers who will compete at the tournament on Lake Lewisville in Texas.

Other celebrity anglers include former professional basketball player Sheryl Swoops, NFL legend Deion Sanders and country music stars Jimmie Allen and Maddie & Tae, according to a news release from Academy.

Professional anglers will serve as the participants’ guides, and the members of the first-place team will be able to make a donation to the benefactor of their choosing, the release reveals.
