BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – A little before 9 p.m., on Monday, October 10, deputies with the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office performed a traffic stop on a Chevrolet Malibu.

Speeding was the reason for the stop in the 6000 block of Prescott Rd.

Two deputies then exited their units and approached the Malibu.

The window on the driver’s side was rolled down and that is when one deputy “observed a cloud of smoke inside of the vehicle,” according to the affidavit.

There were four people in the car at the time including the driver, Oriana Washington, 21, of Baton Rouge.

Washington admitted to speeding and was the only occupant who provided identification to the deputies.

The three passengers in the vehicle were a juvenile, Freddie Tate, 18, of Baton Rouge and Jermonte Clark, 18, of Baker.

Those three were searched and nothing illegal was found on any of them.
