BATON ROUGE, La. (LOCAL 33)(FOX 44) – Four people including a toddler are dead after a car crashed into a house on Progress Rd.
That’s exactly what Patrick Dunn was doing Wednesday night. He was out on his porch like always, doing exercises when a car drove through the front of his house. The front room and the porch were destroyed. Carter was in the back of the house when he heard the car hit the house.
“I’m thinking a tree fell on the house. I’m looking around looking around and then I see him on the porch which use to be our front room,” Carter says.
There were three people inside the car when it ran into Dunn’s house. Jamarcus Harris, Destiny Nelson, and three-year-old Jamarcus Nelson were all killed after the crash. Destiny Nelson’s cousin, Katrina Wray says the news shocked her family.
“We can’t hug we can’t touch. We don’t know what to do right now,” Wray says.
Wray says her family is suffering not only because of the loss, but because her family may not get the chance to grieve.
“With the coronavirus we don’t even know if we’ll be able to have a burial where we can all be together,” Wray says.
While both sides of the family pick up the pieces left behind by the crash, both carter and Wray say they hope they can find peace beneath the rubble.
