Lt. Gov. Billy Nungesser and the Louisiana Seafood Promotion and Marketing Board are set to have the 4th Annual Pardoning of the Crawfish at Cypress Lake on the University of Louisiana Lafayette (ULL) on March 3, at 2 p.m.
Since 2017, this event has celebrated crawfish season in Louisiana and across the Gulf South. This years crawfish of honor will be named “Ernie” in honor of former Lt. Gov. J. Ernie Verret. Verret was the lieutenant governor from 1944-1948. He graduated from ULL in 1905, when it was called the Southwestern Louisiana Industrial Institute.
UL President Dr. Joseph Savoie will be a guest. The public is invited to attend.
