Fran U to hold second drive-thru graduation for medical workers

News

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRProud) – Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady University (FranU) is hosting another drive-thru graduation this weekend.

The graduation starts at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 16 and it includes the rest of the graduating classes.

The entire FranU Class of 2020 was originally scheduled to graduate on May 16, but the COVID-19 pandemic caused a shift in plans.

Nursing and Respiratory therapist seniors had a drive-thru celebration earlier this year on April 27.

These students graduated early in order to go to the front lines of fighting against COVID-19.

According to FranU, “graduates will be from the School of Nursing and School of Arts and Sciences: Biology, BBA, and Theology; and the School of Health Professions: Radiologic Technology and Physician Assistant.”

The line of cars will convene in the parking lot at 7525 Picardy Avenue.

Fran U Graduates will receive these items:

  • Diploma
  • Transcript
  • Cap
  • Gown
  • Tassel
  • Clinical Pin (if applicable)

Physicians Assistant graduates will also get their hoods at the drive-thru graduation.
