Free food and water to be given out Saturday at YMCA

Whether you have outdoor space or will be composting in an apartment, you can divert waste from landfills and turn your food scraps into a nitrogen-rich gardening supplement to improve your garden and help the planet.

BATON ROUGE, La (BRPROUD) -The Baton Rouge Food Bank will be serving to-go meals and water on Saturday, Sep. 4 at 5:30 p.m. at the C.B. Pennington YMCA.

The YMCA is located at 15550 Old Hammond Hwy. Free food and water will be given out while supplies last.

This event is being hosted by Metro Councilman Aaron Moak from District 4, along with Mayor -President Sharon Weston Broome and the Baton Rouge Food Bank.

On Friday morning, President Biden made his way to Louisiana to tour some of the areas hardest hit by Hurricane Ida.
