BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – The Louisiana Department of Health (LDH) recently issued a reminder regarding National Gay Men’s HIV/AIDS Awareness Day, which falls on Tuesday, September 27.
According to the U.S. Centers of Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the purpose of the day is to raise awareness about the impact of HIV on gay and bisexual men in the United States and encourage them to get tested and know their prevention options.
For this reason, LDH announced that free HIV and STD testing will take place Tuesday, September 27 from 12 noon to 4 p.m. at the East Baton Rouge Parish Main Library on Goodwood Boulevard.

Those who wish to participate are assured that testing is free of charge and confidential.
Testing procedures are carried out with the assistance of personnel from Ochsner and LDH.
