DENHAM SPRINGS, La. (BRPROUD) – The Denham Springs Police Department was involved in a chase overnight that included a Dodge Ram.
One of the occupants in that truck was Joseph Gauthier of Denham Springs.
Gauthier allegedly led members of the Denham Springs Police Department on a chase after refusing to stop.
DSPD said that officers tried to stop the Denham Springs man after witnessing “traffic violations near South Range Ave and US 190.”
What followed was a chase along South Range Ave. and into a local subdivision.
The truck driven by Gauthier eventually crashed somewhere in the Plantation Estates subdivision.
Gauthier was subsequently arrested and charged with the crimes listed below:
- License Plate Lights Required
- Aggravated Flight from an Officer
- Driving Under Suspension
- Hit and Run
- Fugitive from EBRSO
- Failure to Register as a Sex Offender
There were two other people in the vehicle when it crashed and DSPD said that they “were transported for non-life-threatening injuries.”
The Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office assisted the Denham Springs Police Department.
