A 35-year-old Baton Rouge woman reportedly jumped from the window of a moving Baton Rouge Police car after her arrest late Sunday morning.

Aleisha Jones of 1124 N. 46th St. was arrested by an officer responding to a disturbance at Jones’ residence. The officer learned Jones was a fugitive from the Gonzales Police Department after previously being arrested for larceny, according to an affidavit.

After the officer arrested Jones and started transporting her, she said she was not going to jail. Then, Jones reportedly rolled down the back window of the police car while it was moving and jumped out of it. The officer reported that Jones, who was handcuffed when she escaped, landed face-first on the roadway.

The officer suggested in the affidavit that Jones be charged with aggravated escape.
