Funeral services announced for sports reporter who died in plane crash

LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY/WGMB) – Funeral services have been announced for Baton Rouge native and sports reporter Carley McCord, the daughter-in-law of LSU’s offensive coordinator Steve Ensminger.

30-year-old McCord died in a private plane crash in Lafayette on Dec. 28 that claimed the lives of four others.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, Jan. 4 at 1 p.m. at St. Jean Vianney Catholic Church, 16166 S Harrells Ferry Rd in Baton Rouge.

Visitation is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday.

An interment will follow the funeral services at St. George Catholic Churuch, 7808 Saint George Drive in Baton Rouge.

Resthaven Funeral Home in Baton Rouge has been placed in charge of her final arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that donations be made to the Carley McCord Memorial Scholarship Fund at Northwestern University.
