FRANKLINTON, La. (BRPROUD) – On Tuesday, March 8, Scotty Dale Pierce, 43, of Franklinton, was arrested for the seventh time in the last fifteen years.
The latest arrest stems from Pierce playing chicken with drivers on Highway 10.
A detective with the Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office observed Pierce go from the east bound shoulder onto the highway.
WPSO says the 43-year-old was ‘taunting drivers.’
Pierce lives on Highway 10 and that is where the deputy made contact with him.
WPSO says, “As the detective approached Pierce, he observed a possible weapon protruding from Pierce’s pocket.”
The Louisiana resident was arrested and a body search was conducted by the detective.
The detective allegedly found “marijuana and methamphetamine,” according to the Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office.
Pierce is currently in the Washington Parish Jail and his bond is set at $13,750.
The 43-year-old is facing these charges:
- Failure to Appear-Misdemeanor
- Failure to Appear-Misdemeanor
- Obstruction of Highway Simple
- Possession of Schedule II Drugs
- Possession of Marijuana-Simple
This is not the first time that Pierce has been arrested in Washington Parish.
The Franklinton resident was arrested four times in 2007
WPSO says, “In November 2014, Pierce was arrested on two counts of failure to appear in court.”
The last time Pierce was arrested prior to this year was in 2021.
“Dangerous, simply dangerous,” responded Sheriff Randy Seal. “Pierce was posing a danger not only to himself but also to innocent motorists on Highway 10. I’m so glad our detective observed what was happening so he could get Pierce off of the side of the roadway.”
