Gamers Unite! BREC hosting three Esports tournaments

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – Starting next month, BREC is offering Esports Tournaments at Red Oaks Park.

The tournament schedule is listed below:

  • Oct. 23: Madden NFL 22
  • Nov. 6: Mario Kart 8
  • Dec. 11: NBA 2K22

If you are interested in taking part in any of these tournaments, you must be 10 or older and pay $5 per person to enter.

To play in any of these tournaments, register at BREC Recreation Online Registration Portal.

Red Oaks Park is located at 2100 Green Oaks Dr.

The three tournaments are not the only thing that BREC is delving into when it comes to Esports.

The Recreation and Park Commission for the Parish of East Baton Rouge is working together with Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Hospital on a special event.

Details about that special event can be found below:

On Nov. 6, BREC will be partnering with Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Hospital, in association with Children’s Miracle Network, for National Game Day and their Extra Life Program. This special day will allow participants to earn an “extra life” in the tournament by making a donation to Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Hospital; participants may donate directly at: https://fmolhs.harnessapp.com/wv2/campaign/5464.
