The Scotlandville Professional Academy Consortium and Geaux Get Healthy will sponsor the 2nd Annual Gumbo Run beginning at Scotlandville Magnet High School Saturday, Feb. 1 from 8 a.m. until noon.

The event is Geaux Get Healthy’s initiative for the Scotlandville and North Baton Rouge communities.

Last year’s 5k was the first of its kind in those communities, according to Scotlandville Magnet High School Assistant Principal Paul M. Jackson.

Proceeds from the event will help fund professional development for teachers and the purchase of supplies for students.
