Girl Scout Brownie troops; create 30 gift boxes for children hospital patients

BATON ROUGE, La (BRPROUD) – A local Girls Scout Brownie Troop made 30 boxes from the Jared Project to give sick children at the Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Hospital in Baton Rouge on Saturday, Dec. 4.

The boxes are made uniquely by kids to help other children in hospitals around the world find joy— as they face ailing illnesses.

The Jared Box Project is a nonprofit company that creates plastic shoe-sized storage box is filled with small gifts, toys, games, crayons, coloring books, and fun activities. Each box contains items selected for a specific age and gender. The boxes are given to children in the hospital to provide a special, fun diversion, according to the website.

The Jared Box Project has distributed more than 900K care packages nationwide.
