Gonzales man racks up nine charges after fleeing from the scene of a physical altercation

A 23-year-old man allegedly fled the scene of a physical altercation in Donaldsonville, leaving his vehicle behind. Ascension Parish Sheriffs Office deputies searched his vehicle and found a stolen firearm and drugs.

Gilbert Allen Jr. turned himself in Tuesday after officers said they found the gun, 50 grams of marijuana, 30 grams of crack cocaine, pills and about $730 in his vehicle, according to APSO.

Allen was booked in the Ascension Parish Jail and faces the following charges: disturbing the peace, illegal possession of a firearm, illegal carry of weapons, possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession with intent to distribute MDMA, possession of schedule II CDS, possession with intent to distribute schedule II CDS, possession of schedule IV CDS and possession of drug paraphernalia.
