Gonzales Police searching for wanted suspect in connection to NYE shooting

GONZALES, La. (NBC Local 33)(Fox 44) – Authorities in Gonzales are needing the public’s help in the search for a suspect wanted in connection to a shooting on New Year’s Eve.

Gonzales Police believe Jasper Jonica Dorsey, Jr. is responsible for a shooting incident at the Circle K gas station on Highway 30.

Police say Dorsey fired multiple shots and fled the scene shortly after.

Authorities believe Dorsey was last seen or has access to the following vehicles:

  • A black Hyunda Elantra – LA license plate BIGEYES
  • A red Dodge Charger with black stripes – LA license plate 254BLI
  • A dark Chevrolet pickup truck – LA license plate C729615

Dorsey has been known to frequent Gonzales Apartments on Commerce Street.

Once arrested, Dorsey will be charged with Attempted 2nd Degree Murder, Illegal Use and Carry of a Weapon, and Aggravated Assault with a Firearm.
