BACK TO PHASE 3: Gov. Edwards announcement means local bars are reopening

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — Governor John Bel Edwards announced Tuesday that Louisiana will move into a “modified phase 3 of reopening.”

The modified phase three guidelines will allow restaurants, malls and most other businesses to open at 75% capacity.

Gatherings in indoor event halls are limited to 50% capacity or up to 250 people.

Bars in all parishes can open at 25% capacity. Parishes that have a COVID-19 positivity rate below 5% can open at 50% capacity.

There will be no max capacity in places of worship.

The mask mandate will stay in place, hand washing and social distancing are encouraged.

The “modified phase 3” order will last until March 31.
