BATON ROUGE, La. (LOCAL 33) (FOX 44) The Greater Baton Rouge State Fair is back in full swing after being closed Friday and Saturday for inclement weather. Fair Chairman Cliff Barton says the two days closed will put a dent in the proceeds that will be donated back to the community, but he is praying for the best and a big turnout for the next week.
Fair goers are enjoying rides, activities and classic fair food with a cajun twist. Barton wants to remind everyone that by supporting the fair, you’re supporting the community.
“We donate all of our proceeds back to the community in the form of scholarships and grants and charitable non-profit organizations involving families, children and wellness of life,” Barton said.
Fair staff advises you to dress accordingly, as the fair grounds are muddy from the rain.
