BATON ROUGE, La. (FOX 44) (LOCAL 33) The coronavirus outbreak is changing the way Louisianians are doing everyday things.

“It’s pretty scary, that we are having to shelter in place, it’s a world wide thing, it’s not just in one little area. It’s very scary,” Shopper Judy Chiappetti said.

Several stores are offering special hours for seniors to get their shopping done as safely as possible.

Oak Point Fresh Market owner Summer Sumich said it is crucial for seniors to shop during their most sanitary hour.

“It’s a great time to be able to have them come to the store between 7 and 8 am because we’ve already deep cleaned,” Sumich said.

Senior citizens are considered the most high risk covid-19 patients according to the CDC.

“Well with the virus going on these days, you just don’t who is next you in line, it’s really nice they could do this for the seniors,” Chiappetti said.
