Hammond Police Department: Missing 13-year-old girl found

HAMMOND, La. (BRProud) –

UPDATE:

13-year-old Kayleyah Green is back home safe and sound.

A tip helped authorities find the missing girl from Hammond.

The tip came in around 10 p.m. on Tuesday, May 12.

HPD says around that time, “a young black female was walking on Highway 190 East near the Piggly Wiggly, not wearing shoes, and had just run into the woods.”

Green was found at 10:06 p.m. by HPD patrol officers.

The missing girl was found on a porch in good condition.

Hammond resident Kayleyah Green, 13 has been missing since 3:00 a.m. on Monday, May 11.

At that time, Green was seen walking away from her home near Morris Rd.

“No clothing description is available, but she is approximately 5’7” and 130 pounds,” according to the Hammond Police Department.
