PORT FOURCHON, La. (WDSU) — Significant water is covering portion of Highway 1 in Port Fourchon and Grand Isle Wednesday morning.
Storm surge is a concern for the area.
Due to rising water caused by Hurricane Laura, LA Highway 1 is now closed south of the Leon Theriot Lock in Golden Meadow.
A mandatory evacuation remains in effect for the area, south of the Leon Theriot Lock, including Port Fourchon.
