Hit-and-run crash caused vehicle fire on I-10, no injuries reported



NEW ORLEANS, La. (WDSU) — A car caught fire, prompting lane closures on I-10 East at I-610 Tuesday afternoon.

The New Orleans Police Department said the accident is currently being investigated as a hit-and-run.

Officials say the vehicle was struck by another vehicle that then fled the scene.

The struck vehicle spun out of control, hit the guard rail and caught fire.

All occupants in the vehicle were able to get out.

No injuries were reported.

All lanes of the interstate have since reopened.
