BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – Fire investigators say that arson was the cause of a blaze on Wednesday night.

The call came in at 11:37 p.m. about a fire at a vacant home on Brice St.

The Baton Rouge Fire Department arrived at the scene within five minutes.

“Firefighters arrived on the scene to find heavy fire coming from the front of the vacant home,” according to the Baton Rouge Fire Department.

Seven total units, four pumpers and one ladder were use in the fight against the fire.

It took firefighters 12 minutes to get the fire under control.

Despite this, the vacant home is considered a “total loss.”

The vacant home sustained $15,000 in damages.

BRPD and EMS assisted the Baton Rouge Fire Department at the scene.
