BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – The Baton Rouge Fire Department was called to a reported house fire on Tuesday morning.

Firefighters arrived at 3145 Eaton St. a little after 9:30 a.m. and found “fire extending out the front of the home,” according to the Baton Rouge Fire Department.

Seven total units, four pumpers and one ladder were used to attack the blaze.

BRFD says, “The fire made it into the attic before being brought under control.”

It took firefighters twenty minutes to put the fire out.

The home sustained $120,000 in damages.

“Fire damage was contained to the front bedroom, hall, and attic above,” according to the Baton Rouge Fire Department.

BRFD says, “The rest of the home received heavy smoke damage.”

Seven people were affected by this fire including a mom and six children.

The investigation into what started the fire is ongoing.

BRPD, EMS, Entergy and the Red Cross assisted the Baton Rouge Fire Department at the scene.
