WALKER, La. (BRPROUD) – Firefighters with the Livingston Parish Fire Protection District 4 received a call about a missing girl at 11:40 a.m. on Monday, June 6.

A search ensued in the area of Burgess Rd. & Milton Rd.

A helicopter from the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office assisted in the search for the missing girl.

The search took almost four hours but the girl was located at 3:26 p.m. in a ravine.

Firefighters took the girl out of the ravine which was in the woods.

The girl had sustained puncture wounds which led rescuers to believe she had been bitten by a snake.

According to Chief James Wascom, the girl was taken to Our Lady of the Lake Hospital.

There is no word on the condition of the girl.
