SLIDELL, La. (BRPROUD) – Multiple agencies are investigating a deadly fire that took place overnight.
Firefighters responded a little before 1:40 a.m. to a home in the Eden Isles Subdivision.
Four people were killed in what is being called a residential structure fire.
Asst. Chief of Fire Prevention Jason Gaubert identified the victims as a mother, father and two children, ages 5 and 10.
STFPD says a fifth person did escape the fire.
A neighbor heard an explosion which investigators believe was a propane tank.
According to the St. Tammany Fire Protection District #1, “The fire is out and the cause of the fire is under investigation at this time.”

- St. Tammany Parish Coroner’s Office
St. Tammany Fire Protection District #1 is asking the public “to please pray for the victims and their family members!”
