Husband announces memorial service for Nancy Parker

NEW ORLEANS (WDSU) —

Nancy Parker’s husband has announced a memorial service for the longtime anchor at WVUE FOX 8 News. Parker died in a plane crash Friday afternoon in New Orleans East.

Glynn Boyd posted to Facebook that a memorial will be held for Parker on Friday, August 23 at Xavier’s Convocation Center at 9 a.m..

At the time of her death, Parker was on assignment with Franklin Augustus, a member of a Louisiana group that honored Tuskegee Airmen.

Augustus was a trained acrobatic pilot who was also an advocate for youth and fighting against drug use.
