BATON ROUGE, La (BRPROUD) – Due to recent COVID-19 surges and positive cases in Louisiana; the Office of Juvenile Justice (OJJ) secure care facilities started the process on Thursday to limit the number of visitors, contractors, and deliveries—until further notice.
Video visitation will continue to ensure contact with families and friends.
All entering secure care facilities are expected to be tested regularly for temperature checks, COVID-19 testing and social distancing—to further combat and prevent any exposure that has been determined, according to OJJ.
OJJ is also working close with its medical providers to examine data and guidance from the state and national public health officials including the CDC for further guidance to protect their staff, juveniles and contractors.
