MANSFIELD, La. (BRPROUD) – The DeSoto Parish Sheriff’s Office (DPSO) is looking for additional information on an individual who is allegedly impersonating law enforcement in DeSoto Parish.

DPSO recently received reports of an unmarked white Chevy Tahoe with a spotlight and red and blue mounted lights attempting to pull over drivers.

“We have received multiple calls regarding a white Tahoe being spotted in the area. Please note that the vehicle we are in search of is not marked with Law Enforcement, Fire, or EMS logos,” DPSO said in a post on Facebook. “We have received calls about this vehicle and we want the public to know it is legitimate.”

The suspect is reportedly a white man who is somewhere between 35 and 40-years-old.

DPSO says the individual is “wearing plain clothes similar in color to DPSO uniforms.”

Authorities say the matter is being taken very seriously and there is an investigation underway.

DPSO also provided pictures of a real law parish vehicle, complete with logos.

If you have come in contact with the suspect during a traffic stop, or have any information relating to the details provided above, please contact Lt. Reggie Roe at 318-872-3956.
