Investigators conclude arson is the cause of late night fire on N 20th St.

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – The Baton Rouge Fire Department received a call around 9:40 p.m. on Tuesday, September 14,

Firefighters arrived at 735 N 20th St. within five minutes of the call.

According to the Baton Rouge Fire Department, “Firefighters arrived on scene to find a small fire on the outside wall toward the rear of the vacant home.”

Firefighters also found a small fire in another section of the home.

Members of the Baton Rouge Fire Department were able to put the fires out in a little under 30 minutes with the help of seven total units , four pumpers and one ladder.

The fire did not make its way inside the home thanks to the efforts of firefighters at the scene.

The vacant home sustained $15,000 in damages.

EMS, BRPD and Entergy assisted the Baton Rouge Fire Department at the scene.

Fire investigators concluded that arson was the cause of this fire.
