BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – If you are hungry and anywhere near the LSU campus today, stop by and take part in “the nation’s largest college street food festival.”
LSU and Chef Jet Tila are teaming up to celebrate the return of students to campus.
“I can’t wait to step foot on LSU’s beautiful campus to kick-off this awesome Festi-Ful event, and I’m grateful to work side-by-side with LSU and Chartwells to help welcome students back with an event they won’t forget,” said Chef Jet Tila. “I’m also very excited to see what these chefs create for the Jambalaya Showdown— I’m sure they’ll teach me a thing or two about bayou cuisine!”
This is not going to be just any festival.
“The Country’s Largest College Street Food Festival” is called “Festi-Ful” and LSU is one of 300 campuses across the country that is going to take part in this event.
So what can the public expect to see at the “Festi-ful?
- A live cooking demo by Chef Tila (The live stream with Chef Tila from LSU will take place on Chartwells Higher Education’s Instagram page at 11:45am CT)
- LSU’s first-ever Jambalaya Showdown
- A selection of eight different jambalaya dishes
- Local barbecue from Cou-yon’s
- Cool treats from Kona Ice and Smoothie King
- Refreshments from Coca-Cola and Monster
“We are thrilled to be returning to full campus operations this fall. What a wonderful way to kick off the semester with LSU Dining and their nationwide Festi-Ful event. We are excited to have Chef Jet Tila on campus to host an amazing Jambalaya cook-off showing off our talented chefs and one of our state’s favorite dishes. We are sure Chef Tila will be saying Geaux Tigers in no time,” said Margot Carroll, Assistant Vice President, LSU Auxiliary Services.
The Festi-Ful on LSU’s campus is going to happen on Tower Dr., outside of the Student Union.
