BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – The Jewel J. Newman Community Center Food Pantry in Baton Rouge is set to reopen Thursday as pandemic-related restrictions loosen in the state.
The Center, located at 2013 Central Road, will be open Thursday and Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. for clients whose last names begin with A-F, according to The City of Baton’s Office of Public Information.
After that, regular pantry hours will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesdays through Fridays. Those utilizing the pantry are told to bring cardboard boxes.
The pantry will accept new client applications in August.
The pantry is seeking volunteers who are at ages that are less vulnerable to COVID-19. Those looking to help for three-hour shifts can email email@example.com or call (225) 775-3935.
