BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — The Baton Rouge Police Department has made an arrest in connection to reported shots fired on Shelley Street around 11:30 p.m. on Sunday, September 25.

According to BRPD, officers arrived in the 4800 block of Shelley Street around 11:30 p.m. When officers arrived, they found a female juvenile suffering from a gunshot wound. Officers were advised that the juvenile victim and Kelvin Wallace, 55, were involved in an altercation. Police say a family member told officers they had seen Wallace enter the home with a gun. Wallace then fled the scene in a black Nissan.

Police say the juvenile was taken to a local hospital for non-life threatening injuries. The juvenile was interviewed at the hospital where they told officers Wallace has shot them in the arm once from the vehicle and then entered the residence with the gun.

Kelvin Wallace was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison for attempted first-degree murder and illegal use of weapons.
