BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — With the help of a K-9, Assumption Parish sheriff’s deputies on Saturday arrested a 19-year-old man on drug and weapons charges following a traffic stop south of Napoleonville.

Upon initiating the traffic stop and interviewing Jaheim Javon Miller, of Gonzales, a deputy determined that additional investigation was warranted and requested the help of a K-9, according to the Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office.

The K-9 conducted an open-air sniff of the vehicle Miller was driving, and it alerted to the presence of illegal drugs. Deputies searched the vehicle, where they found marijuana and two handguns.
