Keep on cruisin’: Baton Rouge gas prices drop 7.2 cents per gallon


The first month of the new year ended with declining gas prices statewide, and prices have dropped 7.2 cents in Baton Rouge over the last week, according to GasBuddy’s daily survey of 361 stations.

The average price of gas in Baton Rouge sits at $2.08 per gallon, which is 37 cents lower than the national average and 25.1 cents lower than last month’s average price in the city.

The cheapest Baton Rouge gas station charges $1.83 per gallon, and the most expensive price in the area is $2.69 per gallon.

This marks the third consecutive week prices have decreased nationwide, according to GasBuddy’s Head of Petroleum Analysis Patrick DeHaan.
