In a top 25 matchup, the Kentucky Wildcats steal game one vs LSU at Tiger Park on Friday night.
The top of the second inning saw Kentucky strike first to take a 2-0 lead. The Tigers would respond in the third as Elyse Thornhill grounded out to bring the first run home. Shelbi Sunseri would reach on a fielder’s choice, scoring Aliyah Andrews to knot the game up at two.
Sunseri came on in relief of Maribeth Gorsuch and finished with four strikeouts in 2.2. innings of work. However, Kentucky added another run in the fifth and that was the difference.
Both teams get it going in game two on Sunday at 1 p.m.
