Kitten rescued from storm drain with the help of police

REEDLEY, California – A kitten is safe after being rescued from a storm drain thanks to the help of the Reedley police department and Cat House on the Kings.

Reedley police said they got a call Sunday about a kitten in a storm drain on 10th street in the city of Reedley.

After several attempts to rescue the kitten, they were unable to help.

Reedley police arrived Wednesday and lifted the heavy metal lid on the drain.

A Reedley police sergeant along with animal control then reached down into the drain and rescued the kitten.

The tiny feline went to The Cat House on the Kings fed and will be held at the animal shelter for possible adoption.

The kitten named “Piper” looked to be about 5-weeks-old.
